Suspected of Being Hired by Singapore Loan Sharks, Thugs Throw Molotov Cocktails to Intimidate Debto
A suspected henchman hired by a Singapore-based loan shark threw a petrol bomb at the home of a debtor in Kuala Lumpur.
The incident reportedly occurred at the house rented by the debtor in the satellite town of Jinjang, Kuala Lumpur.
The area's representative, Lim Lip Eng, stated today (April 14) that he received a report from the female victim stating that her home had been targeted with a petrol bomb. He mentioned that it is initially believed the perpetrator was acting on the instructions of a Singapore-based loan shark.
According to reports, the female victim has filed a police report.
In a statement, Lim Lip Eng noted that the perpetrator even filmed the arson process and sent the video to the victim. The suspect also blatantly threatened the victim, saying that if she did not repay the debt, they would harass her daily.
Lim Lip Eng emphasized that Kuala Lumpur must not become a haven for transnational loan-sharking syndicates. Law enforcement agencies must immediately take decisive and stringent action to arrest those behind the crime and all related parties.
