Topical Focus: SDG #4

“Ensure inclusive and equitable quality education and promote lifelong learning opportunities for all”

It is imperative now, more than ever, that we as a people and one species, come together to unite under a common mission, to preserve the liberty, safety, and to secure the future of our people, our planet, and our environment. The 2022 United Nations SDG-Youth Diplomats for International Peace Summit Orator & Illustrator Competition inspires students as artists and speakers to do just that.

2020 was a memorable year that few will forget. As countries around the world braced for the looming COVID-19 pandemic, governments sought to minimize the impacts by curtailing travel and locking down economies. Were these actions justified? No one truly knows, however, the repercussions from stifled supply chains, currency volatility, and geo-political unrest have left nations reeling from the economic damage often and disproportionately affecting those least capable of shouldering the burden.

How do we build a more resilient future? How do we ensure that the current generation and future generations are not “caught off guard” by existential threats?  If changing rainfall patterns affect crop production or new variants of virus threaten inadequate/inefficient healthcare systems, how can we envision a comprehensive change to drive us closer towards our desired goal?
