Cambodia requested to change the meeting location with Thailand to Kuala Lumpur.

Reportedly, Cambodia requested to move tomorrow (24th)'s talks with Thailand to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Thai foreign ministry responded, stating that the meeting location is still under discussion. However, the Thai defense minister emphasized that it is "very safe" to hold the talk in Thailand.
Foreign ministry spokesman Nikomd said to journalists in Bangkok that the meeting between Thailand and Cambodia will be held for two days, with technical team meeting first.
Before attending the cabinet meeting, Minister of Defense, General Natthapon told journalists that the meeting will be held in eastern Chanthaburi Province where the cross fire rarely occurred. He said it is very safe and the meeting will be held near the Cambodia border.
Natthapon added that the last Joint Boundary Commission meeting was held in Koh Kong Province in Cambodia, thus it is Thailand's turn to hold the meeting this time. He also stressed that Thailand will separate military and diplomatic affairs and ensure security of the meeting, hoping that Cambodia would not have to worry.
Attending a special foreign minister meeting in Kuala Lumpur yesterday (22th), Thai foreign minister Kasit said that Thai and Cambodian defense officials will hold a meeting tomorrow (24th) discussing the possibilities to resume the ceasefire, and suggesting holding the meeting in eastern Chanthaburi Province near the border line.
However, according to AFP report, Cambodian defense minister Teah Banh wrote a letter yesterday to Natthapon requesting to move the meeting to Kuala Lumpur. Teah Banh said that regarding the current security situation, with border clashes still continue, the meeting should be held in a safe and neutral place. And as ASEAN chair, Malaysia has agreed to host the meeting in Kuala Lumpur.
